Susan Kamengere Njoki, the 48-year-old founder and CEO of Toto Touch Kenya, died from manual strangulation while under the custody of Chiromo Mental Hospital. Njoki was reportedly forcibly admitted to the hospital by her husband and passed away one day after being taken there. A postmortem examination conducted by six pathologists confirmed that Njoki was strangled to death at the facility. Following the revelations from the autopsy, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) ordered the immediate shutdown of Chiromo Hospital's Braeside branch. The council mandated the evacuation of all patients and the suspension of clinical services at the branch as investigations continue. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is actively probing the case, reviewing CCTV footage and investigating the involvement of a hospital staff member in Njoki's death.
