Mattel is bringing its bestselling card game to the Strip, but not to the casino floor. The company confirmed that the first-ever “UNO Social Club” will open inside a luxury suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas from 18-20 July. The pop-up is limited to winners of an earlier social-media contest and invited guests, who will play themed versions such as UNO Golf, UNO Teams and UNO Show ’em No Mercy in rooms decked out in the game’s trademark red, yellow, blue and green colours. The announcement triggered viral speculation that real-money UNO tables were coming to Las Vegas, prompting the brand to clarify on 14 July that “the casino floor isn’t ready for us yet.” No wagering will be allowed and the activation will remain separate from the resort’s regulated gaming areas, Mattel said. Ray Adler, vice president and global head of games at Mattel, said the initiative is meant to “reimagine what game night can be—bringing people together for real-world fun, connection and a bit of friendly competition.” The Las Vegas suite marks the start of a broader campaign: travelling UNO Social Clubs are scheduled to appear at bars and venues in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Austin beginning in August.
