The Pokémon Company surprise-launched “Pokémon Friends” during its Pokémon Presents showcase on 22 July 2025, making the daily-puzzle spinoff immediately available on Nintendo Switch, the forthcoming Switch 2, iOS and Android devices. The title invites players to solve randomly generated brainteasers to earn virtual yarn, which is then fed into an in-game “Plush-O-Matic” to craft collectible Pokémon plushies and decorate personalised rooms in the setting of Think Town. Monetisation differs by platform. The mobile editions are free to start but gate unlimited daily play and certain items behind optional purchases. On Switch, the download costs $9.99 in the United States and includes the Basic Pack—30 puzzles, 70 craftable plushies and 11 yarn types—eliminating the daily-play cap faced by mobile users. Two further add-ons, Puzzle On! Packs 1 and 2, expand the catalogue and cost $15 each or $26 when bought together. Across all versions, Pokémon Friends offers more than 1,200 puzzles, daily login stamps and support for up to five save files, positioning it as a family-friendly complement to larger franchise releases such as Pokémon Legends: Z-A, due in October. The immediate cross-platform launch adds yet another revenue stream to the franchise’s growing slate of mobile and console spinoffs.
