The Syrian Ministry of Information has officially denied reports of an assassination attempt on President Ahmed al-Sharaa during his visit to Daraa, refuting claims that the Syrian army and Turkish intelligence thwarted such an attempt. Multiple Syrian state media outlets, including the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), confirmed there is no truth to these allegations. Additionally, the Ministry of Information dismissed reports of any meetings or negotiations between President al-Sharaa and Israeli officials. Furthermore, Syrian government sources rejected claims that Syria intends to escalate diplomatic or economic measures against Lebanon over the issue of Syrian detainees in Lebanese prisons. The government emphasized the priority of resolving the detainees' situation through official channels and denied any plans for increased pressure or security cooperation suspension with Lebanon. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani is expected to visit Beirut soon to discuss the detainees' file.
