Club América Femenil has completed the permanent signing of Spanish striker Bruna Vilamala from FC Barcelona, the clubs confirmed on 16 July. The move gives the Mexico City side a high-profile reinforcement for the ongoing Apertura 2025 campaign and adds another European champion to a squad already featuring former Barça goalkeeper Sandra Paños. Vilamala, 23, joined Barcelona’s academy at 11 and debuted for the senior team at 17. She went on to play 72 competitive matches and score 26 goals, helping the Catalan club win domestic league and cup doubles as well as the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The forward spent last season on loan with Brighton & Hove Albion in England’s Women’s Super League. Mexican outlet Récord reported that Vilamala has signed a two-year contract with América. Registration formalities will determine whether she features in Sunday’s home match against Tijuana or makes her debut a week later against León. América opened the season with a 2–1 win over Cruz Azul and is seeking its third Liga MX Femenil title.
