The Cámara Minera de México (Camimex) reported that mining investments in Mexico reached $5.063 billion in 2024 despite challenges such as a lack of new concessions and permits. The annual report highlighted a 1.3% growth attributed to favorable international market conditions and rising prices of key metals. However, investments in metallic mining sharply declined by 82.8%, falling from $2.09 billion in 2023 to $359.5 million in 2024, a drop linked to legislation enacted under the current administration. Looking ahead, Camimex projects that mining investments will increase to $5.308 billion in 2025, marking the highest level in the past 12 years. Separately, the relocation of home appliance companies to Nuevo León is expected to generate $3 billion in purchases, according to the Consejo Latinoamericano de Electromésticos (CLELAC).
