The Mexican government has launched an ambitious development initiative centered on 15 Polos de Desarrollo Económico para el Bienestar, designed to generate 300,000 jobs and attract investment equivalent to 1.5% of the country's GDP. These economic development hubs are located across 14 states, including Campeche, Chihuahua, Estado de México, Sonora, Puebla, and Veracruz. The program offers incentives such as a 100% deduction on fixed investments and 25% support for training and innovation. Concurrently, the federal government unveiled the Programa Integral para el Oriente del Estado de México, a comprehensive social, urban, and economic development plan targeting 10 municipalities with an investment exceeding 75.7 billion pesos throughout President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration. This plan includes 121 actions in sectors like health, education, and transportation, with the federal government contributing 60% of the funding. In health infrastructure developments, Sheinbaum inaugurated the expansion of the Hospital General IMSS-Bienestar in Rioverde, San Luis Potosí, which will benefit over 200,000 people, and announced plans for a new hospital in Ciudad Valles. Additionally, the government completed and opened the Hospital Materno Infantil IMSS Bienestar in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, after more than a decade of delays, with an investment exceeding 800 million pesos. The president also highlighted forthcoming investments in Veracruz's infrastructure, including a new bridge in Coatzacoalcos. Indigenous communities in southern Veracruz recognized Sheinbaum's efforts in support of indigenous peoples by presenting her with a ceremonial staff of authority.
