The event also showcases monumental pre-Hispanic sculptures and reenactments involving hundreds of actors, aiming to connect modern audiences with the city's indigenous heritage. Despite widespread public interest and attendance, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Archdiocese of Mexico have expressed strong opposition to the videomapping show, stating that some projected images and messages, including references to legal abortion, offend Catholic faith and principles. Following these complaints, the Mexico City government removed references to abortion from the spectacle.
