The Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Power (TEPJF) has taken divergent stances regarding investigations into alleged electoral misconduct during the judicial election in Nuevo León. Initially, by majority vote, the TEPJF upheld the National Electoral Institute's (INE) refusal to investigate the so-called "operación acordeón," which accused the Mexico City government and the Morena party of interfering in the judicial election due to insufficient evidence. However, the tribunal later unanimously ordered the INE to investigate the alleged mass distribution of "acordeones" (voting guides) during the judicial election, an act reportedly orchestrated by the Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) party. This decision followed complaints including a photograph of the MC leader in Nuevo León with an accordion, which the INE had not previously examined. Additionally, the political party PAN filed a complaint prompting the investigation. Meanwhile, the organization Somos México has presented an amicus curiae to the TEPJF seeking to annul the judicial election over multiple allegations such as mass distribution of accordions, public officials' interference, and procedural irregularities. Further controversies include accusations by PAN against Morena for alleged illegal voting practices, where advisers reportedly cast votes on behalf of Morena deputies citing technical issues with the remote voting system APRAB. PAN deputy David Alejandro Cortés has formally denounced these actions as regulatory violations.
