Heavy rains caused flash flooding in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, on July 15, 2025, resulting in at least one infant fatality, 14 injuries, and extensive property damage. The flooding was triggered by the overflow of a canal, affecting more than 140 houses and damaging over 30 vehicles. Cleanup efforts commenced promptly following the event. In Mexico City, intense rainfall on August 1, 2025, led to severe flooding across multiple boroughs including Tlalpan, Iztapalapa, Xochimilco, Gustavo A. Madero, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Tecámac, Ecatepec, Coacalco, and Tultitlán. Floodwaters reached depths of up to 50 centimeters on Insurgentes Sur avenue, causing the closure of 17 Metrobús stations on line 1 and stranding numerous vehicles in traffic. The San Buenaventura River overflowed in Xochimilco, exacerbating flooding conditions. Urban services teams have been deployed to clear clogged drains and mitigate water accumulation. The flooding disrupted traffic on major roads such as Periférico Sur and Calzada Ermita Iztapalapa, prompting authorities to advise caution and avoid affected areas.
