The Canadian Armed Forces have conducted multiple airdrops delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza amid ongoing conflict. Canada has accused Israel of violating international law by blocking supplies to the territory, which has been under a severe Israeli military assault for nearly 22 months. The aid deliveries included approximately 10 tons of supplies transported by Hercules aircraft. Canada is among six countries, including Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Germany, and Belgium, that have airdropped food aid packages to Gaza residents, with a total of 120 packages reported by the Israeli military. Additionally, Canada has indicated plans to recognize Palestine as a state at the United Nations in September. Other nations such as France have already announced recognition, while the UK and Canada have made conditional pledges. The reopening of aid crossings as of July 27 has facilitated additional airdrops. Belgium’s defense ministry described the airdrops as the only current means to save lives in Gaza. Jordan’s military also carried out five airdrops delivering 35 tons of aid with participation from the UAE, France, and Germany.
