Two new armed groups affiliated with Fatah, led by Yasser Khanidek and Rami Khalas, have emerged in Gaza and are actively fighting Hamas in coordination with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). These groups operate in northern and southern Gaza, including Gaza City, Khan Yunis, and the Shuja’iya area, and receive salaries and support from the Palestinian Authority. Additionally, a militia led by Yasser Abu Shabab, also backed by Israel, has openly acknowledged cooperation with the Israeli military, focusing on logistical support and combat against Hamas. Abu Shabab stated that their objective is to eliminate Hamas and claimed that Hamas is in its final stages. The Joint Room of the Palestinian Factions condemned Abu Shabab’s Popular Forces as collaborators with Israel. Meanwhile, Hamas continues negotiations for a ceasefire from a position of relative strength in Doha.
