The Hamas-run Interior Ministry in Gaza has issued a 10-day ultimatum for Yasser Abu Shabab, leader of an Israel-backed militia in southern Gaza, to surrender to authorities. The Revolutionary Court has charged Abu Shabab with treason, espionage for hostile entities, forming an armed gang, armed rebellion, and collaborating with the Israeli military, including allegations of looting humanitarian aid. Failure to comply will result in him being considered a fugitive and tried in absentia. Abu Shabab has publicly admitted in interviews that his forces cooperate with the Israeli army to some extent, providing support to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and he has vowed to continue fighting Hamas. The Joint Operations Room of Palestinian Resistance Factions has condemned Abu Shabab and his group as traitors stripped of their Palestinian identity, declaring their blood forfeit due to their collaboration with Israel. Palestinian factions have warned they will not show mercy to Abu Shabab or his associates. Abu Shabab has described Hamas as in its final stages and called it an inhumane organization, signaling ongoing internal conflict within Gaza.
