Four injured Palestinian patients from Gaza, including two TRT Arabic journalists, Sami Barhoum and Sami Shahada, were evacuated to Ankara, Turkey for urgent medical treatment amid ongoing Israeli attacks. The patients and seven accompanying companions were transferred from Gaza to Jordan and then flown to Turkey following extensive efforts by Turkish authorities. The TRT Arabic journalists had been documenting the situation in Gaza since October 7, 2023, often under life-threatening conditions. Upon arrival in Turkey, the journalists and patients were admitted to Etlik City Hospital for treatment. This evacuation underscores the challenges faced by medical and media personnel in Gaza due to restricted access to healthcare amid the conflict.
