France, UK and Germany Press Iran to Revive Nuclear Talks

The foreign ministers of France, the United Kingdom and Germany, together with the European Union’s High Representative, held a conference call with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on 17 July, according to a French diplomatic source. The E3 ministers told their Iranian counterpart that they want to relaunch negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear programme and urged Iran to return immediately to the diplomatic track to reach a verifiable and durable agreement. The source said the European ministers reiterated their readiness to seek the re-imposition of United Nations sanctions on Iran if no concrete progress toward a nuclear deal is achieved by the end of the summer.
