Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran held “serious, frank and detailed” discussions this week with diplomats from France, Germany and the United Kingdom on reviving the 2015 nuclear accord. Both sides arrived with specific proposals and examined multiple issues, including Iran’s objections to the agreement’s snapback mechanism that allows a rapid reimposition of United Nations sanctions, Gharibabadi told reporters after the meeting. The parties agreed to keep consulting, signaling that negotiations between Iran and the so-called E3 will continue, although no date for the next round was disclosed.
