The International Atomic Energy Agency said it is awaiting formal clarification from Tehran after multiple media outlets reported that Iran has suspended its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog. An agency spokesperson told reporters on 2 July, “We are aware of these reports and are waiting for further official information from Iran regarding its decision.” The reported halt in cooperation, if confirmed, would mark a further setback in the IAEA’s ability to monitor Iran’s nuclear activities. The agency did not specify what level of cooperation is at stake and said it would comment further once Iran communicates its position through official channels.
