The Israel Defense Forces said its 252nd Reserve Division has completed a four-and-a-half-month operation in northern Gaza and withdrawn from the enclave. The unit, which had been active in the Netzarim Corridor and parts of eastern Gaza City, is being replaced by the 99th Division to maintain the Israeli military presence in the area. In a separate rotation announced days later, the IDF redeployed its elite 98th Division and the Nahal Brigade to the Gaza Strip after several weeks away from the battlefield. The paratrooper-led formation specialises in rapid, deep-strike urban warfare and is joining ongoing manoeuvres alongside the 162nd Division. The military said its paratroopers, operating under the 36th Division, recently dismantled roughly two miles of branched tunnels in the Khan Younis region. Across the various operations, the IDF claims to have destroyed more than six kilometres of underground passageways and killed dozens of militants as it continues efforts to degrade Gaza-based armed groups’ infrastructure.
