India has voiced deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing that intermittent pauses in hostilities are insufficient to address the acute shortages of food, fuel, medical services, and education faced by the population. The Indian envoy to the United Nations, Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni, called for a ceasefire and stressed the need for safe, sustained, and timely humanitarian assistance. India reaffirmed its commitment to the Palestinian cause, highlighting its historic ties and support, including recognition of the State of Palestine as the first non-Arab country to do so and backing organizations such as UNRWA. India also underscored the importance of a two-State solution, envisioning a sovereign, viable, and independent State of Palestine living side by side with Israel in peace. Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has written a personal letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his political leverage and good relations with Israel to ensure the release of Palestinian tax funds and the entry of humanitarian aid, including supplementary nutrition for children in Gaza. Pakistan has also expressed willingness to assist Gaza, noting impediments created by Israel and its ongoing coordination with the United Nations to send more aid when possible. India acknowledged the upcoming High-Level International Conference on the implementation of a two-State solution as a relevant diplomatic effort toward peace in the region.
“Pakistan remains open to helping our brothers and sisters in Gaza. The impediments that have been created by Israel through fragrant violations and we remain in touch with the UN, as soon as the situation improves, we remain committed to sending more aid”, says @ForeignOfficePk https://t.co/IVV1W41lf0
