Since August 15, 2025, Israeli forces have conducted extensive military operations across the Gaza Strip, including artillery shelling, airstrikes, and ground incursions. Key areas targeted include the Al-Zaytoun and Sabra neighborhoods in Gaza City, Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, Jabalia al-Balad in northern Gaza, and central Gaza locations such as Deir al-Balah and the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital. These operations have resulted in numerous casualties among Palestinian civilians, with medical sources reporting at least 57 Palestinians killed in a single day on August 17, including 38 aid seekers affected by ongoing famine conditions. Casualty figures fluctuated in subsequent days, with reports of 30 to 60 Palestinians killed daily due to Israeli strikes. Several incidents involved the targeting of displaced civilians, aid seekers, and residential homes, including tents sheltering displaced persons. Israeli forces also advanced into Gaza City’s Sabra neighborhood with tanks and military vehicles, accompanied by heavy artillery fire. Medical sources have confirmed multiple children among the injured and killed. The Israeli military has employed drones, artillery, and helicopter strikes, and has been reported to block ambulances and civil defense teams from accessing affected areas. The ongoing bombardment has caused widespread destruction and humanitarian distress in densely populated urban areas of Gaza.
