This is a perfect example of the economy of genocide as mapped out in @FranceskAlbs new report. Rafael, Israel’s weapons technology company, uses the killing of a Palestinian in Gaza, for its promotional video. https://t.co/2SQOVRhqSB
Israeli arms giant RAFAEL uses REAL drone strike footage in promo Video shows man being HUNTED by UAV — for marketing https://t.co/YTPZEqeFzU
Israeli defense manufacturer Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has distributed a promotional video for its Spike FireFly loitering munition that includes real-time footage of a Palestinian man being tracked and killed in northern Gaza. The clip, posted online on 12 July, shows the munition circling before striking the individual and is presented as evidence of the weapon’s precision capabilities. The use of lethal combat imagery for commercial purposes drew swift criticism from human-rights advocates, who said the video commodifies the ongoing conflict and reinforces what UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese recently described as an “economy of genocide” benefiting arms producers. Rafael has not publicly addressed the backlash.
