U.S. presidential envoy Steve Whitkoff met Saturday with relatives of Israelis abducted by Hamas, joining their protest encampment in central Tel Aviv and pledging that Washington and Jerusalem are pursuing a single, comprehensive agreement to secure the release of about 50 hostages and end the Gaza war. Whitkoff told reporters that the United States and Israel are working to increase deliveries of food and medicine to the enclave, describing conditions there as a "shortage, not starvation." He said rebutting what he called Hamas’s claims of deliberate deprivation would clear the way for negotiations focused on ending the fighting and bringing the captives home.
