The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed right-handed reliever Michael Kopech on the 15-day injured list because of inflammation in his right knee, retroactive to 28 June. Kopech, 29, had missed the first two months of the season with a shoulder injury but returned in early June to make eight consecutive scoreless outings, although his command remained inconsistent. To fill the roster spot, the Dodgers recalled right-hander Will Klein from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Klein, 24, recorded a 2.85 ERA in 30 minor-league appearances this year and will join a Los Angeles bullpen already coping with multiple absences as the club tries to maintain its lead in the National League West.
