Michael Kopech is still expected back this season, Dave Roberts said But he needed surgery on his right meniscus, per source, as @billplunkettocr noted. Another extended absence for a key Dodgers reliever https://t.co/IEK0NU0giu
The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred right-hander Michael Kopech to the 60-day injured list Wednesday after the reliever underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, according to manager Dave Roberts. Kopech, 28, had been on the 15-day IL since July 1, retroactive to June 28, with what was initially diagnosed as knee inflammation. The procedure extends his absence until at least late August, though Roberts said the club still expects him to return before the end of the season. To offset the loss, Los Angeles activated All-Star right-hander Tyler Glasnow from the injured list and optioned Alexis Díaz to Triple-A Oklahoma City, as the team continues to juggle a bullpen hit hard by injuries.
