The New York Yankees have placed right-handed pitcher Mark Leiter Jr. on the 15-day injured list retroactive to July 7 due to a left fibular head stress fracture sustained while covering first base during an extra-inning game in Cincinnati. No timetable has been given for Leiter's return. To fill the roster spot, the Yankees recalled right-handed pitcher Clayton Beeter from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Additionally, pitching prospect Cam Schlittler is set to make his Major League Baseball debut as a starter on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners.
