Regina Hall and Anna Faris will reprise their fan-favorite roles as Brenda and Cindy in “Scary Movie 6,” marking their first appearance in the horror-spoof franchise since 2013’s “Scary Movie 5.” The project also reunites Keenen Ivory, Shawn and Marlon Wayans, who created the series but last worked on it in 2001. Miramax is producing the film with Paramount handling worldwide distribution. Shooting is slated to begin in October 2025, and the studios have set a global theatrical release for 12 June 2026. Michael Tiddes, a longtime Wayans collaborator whose credits include “A Haunted House,” will direct from a script co-written by the Wayans brothers and Rick Alvarez. The five previous “Scary Movie” installments have generated almost $900 million at the global box office. The producers aim to capitalize on the current wave of horror sequels and reboots, positioning the sixth entry as a timely send-up of recent genre trends.
