Ariana Grande moved on Wednesday to quash speculation that she is stepping away from music, telling her 380 million-plus Instagram followers that it is “very silly” to assume her growing film résumé means she will abandon singing. The post, shared 16 July, came days after the 32-year-old pop star was announced for new roles in an animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” and the comedy sequel “Meet the Parents 4.” Grande wrote that music “is and has always been my lifeline” and said she is “working on a plan to sing for you all next year, even if it’s just for a little,” hinting at a limited run of shows in 2026. She has not toured since the 2019 Sweetener World Tour, which followed her chart-topping albums Sweetener and Thank U, Next. The singer-actor’s comments follow a productive stretch in both fields. Her seventh studio LP, “Eternal Sunshine,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in March 2024, and a deluxe edition, “Brighter Days Ahead,” arrived this past March. On screen, she will reprise her role as Glinda in “Wicked: For Good,” due in theaters on Nov. 21, 2025, while juggling the newly announced projects. Grande said the goal now is to balance multiple endeavors without sidelining the career that first made her a global star.
