Miley Cyrus said she has no plans to mount a large-scale concert tour in support of her new visual album, “Something Beautiful,” telling ABC’s Good Morning America on 15 July, “I do have the physical ability and the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t.” The 32-year-old singer has not undertaken a headlining tour since her 2014 Bangerz run. Cyrus cited several factors, including the absence of a healthy infrastructure for artists on the road, the difficulty of maintaining sobriety, strains on mental wellness and lingering vocal-cord issues. “It’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road,” she said, adding that the emotional highs and lows of arena shows can be destabilising. While ruling out an arena trek, Cyrus said she will continue to make selective appearances; last month she joined Beyoncé in Paris to perform their collaboration “II Most Wanted.” “Something Beautiful” arrives 16 July on Disney+ and Hulu.
