The Steve Miller Band has cancelled its entire 31-date U.S. tour, less than a month before the first show was due to start, saying that a surge in extreme weather makes the itinerary unsafe for fans, crew and performers. In a statement dated July 17, frontman Steve Miller wrote that “the combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks unacceptable… You can blame it on the weather – the tour is cancelled.” The group added it does not know when it will return to the road. The trek had been scheduled to begin on Aug. 15 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in New York and wrap up on Nov. 8 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, with stops in 19 states. Ticket-refund details have not yet been released. Miller’s move follows a string of weather-related disruptions to U.S. concerts and festivals and is among the first full-tour cancellations attributed to broad climate and weather risks rather than a single event. Miller, 81, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 and remains best known for hits such as “The Joker” and “Fly Like an Eagle.” The band has not indicated whether the 2025 dates will be rescheduled.
