Taylor Swift used her first-ever podcast appearance to unveil a new record. Speaking on the Kelce brothers’ “New Heights” show, the singer announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, will arrive on Oct. 3. She revealed four cover artworks and opened pre-orders for vinyl, CD and digital formats during the live broadcast. The 12-song set includes a collaboration with pop singer Sabrina Carpenter on the title track and is produced by longtime partners Max Martin and Shellback alongside Swift. Describing the project as “bangers” that chronicle life behind the scenes of her 149-date Eras Tour, Swift said the record marks the upbeat follow-up to 2024’s “The Tortured Poets Department.” Interest in the announcement sent the YouTube stream to roughly 1.3 million concurrent viewers—what industry trackers said is among the largest live audiences ever for a podcast—and briefly knocked the feed offline. The appearance also saw Swift discuss reclaiming ownership of her early masters and offer light-hearted recollections of learning football during her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who co-hosts the program with his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.
