Multiple brush fires were reported in Salt Lake County, Utah, over July 3 and 4, 2025. A brief grass fire near the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City was quickly extinguished without causing damage. On July 4, a new fire named the Tabby Three Fire ignited on Stansbury Island, burning an estimated 25 acres. Fire crews, including ground and aerial resources, responded to contain the blaze, which is located west of Kaysville in the wetlands of the Great Salt Lake. The Kaysville Fire Department is actively monitoring the situation. This fire marks the third brush fire to start around the Great Salt Lake area on July 4. The fire near Kaysville is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike. No injuries or structural damages have been reported from any of the fires.
