A new wildfire dubbed the Cove Fire is burning on Bureau of Land Management land west of State Route 24 in Sevier County, Utah. Utah Fire Info said late Tuesday that the blaze had grown to about 25 acres and remained “actively growing” in windy conditions. State heavy helicopters and a helitack crew have been dispatched, and authorities said there are no immediate threats to structures or communities. Elsewhere in the state, the Diamond Canyon Fire in Grand County has reached roughly 20 acres, according to the Utah Bureau of Land Management. Fire officials are monitoring both starts as gusty weather and recent lightning strikes complicate containment efforts.
