Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Through August 24 Across Colorado Including Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs; Heavy Rain and Hail Expected

A series of severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued across multiple counties in Colorado between August 22 and August 24, 2025. Areas affected include El Paso, Teller, Boulder, Jefferson, Douglas, Logan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Yuma, Lincoln, and Kit Carson counties. The warnings have been extended at various times, with the latest alerts active until mid-afternoon on August 24. The National Weather Service in Boulder reported that strong storms are expected to move east of Limon and through the Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs areas, with showers and storms increasing over the mountains and spreading onto the plains by evening. These stronger storms are anticipated to produce heavy rain and hail. Additionally, there were reports of livestock, specifically pigs, reacting to thunder sounds during the storm events.
