The Los Angeles Lakers closed the California Classic summer league on Tuesday with an 89-88 comeback victory over the San Antonio Spurs at Chase Center in San Francisco. Trailing by 14 points midway through the final period, the Lakers surged behind guard Dalton Knecht, who scored 15 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, including three late three-pointers that narrowed the gap to a single possession. Forward Darius Bazley completed the rally, following a missed shot with a put-back dunk with 13 seconds remaining to seal the win. Bazley finished with a game-high 27 points on 8-of-10 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. Knecht added eight boards while Cole Swider contributed 15 points as Los Angeles ended the three-game exhibition series with a 2-1 record. The Spurs, who had controlled much of the game with balanced scoring from their summer roster, could not answer on their final possession. The Lakers now shift to the Las Vegas Summer League, where they will face the Dallas Mavericks—led by top draft pick Cooper Flagg—on Thursday.
