Rookie guard Ryan Nembhard delivered a late three-pointer to lift the Dallas Mavericks to an 87–85 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in NBA Summer League action on Thursday in Las Vegas. The former Gonzaga standout scored a game-high 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting and dished out five assists. His decisive shot, set up by fellow first-round pick Cooper Flagg, broke an 85-85 tie with 63 seconds remaining. Nembhard’s performance came with his brother, Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, and their father, Claude, watching courtside. The win moves Dallas to 1–0 in summer play, while the Lakers fall to 0–1.
