Larsson, Ware Spark Heat Past Celtics 100-96 for First Vegas Win

The Miami Heat secured their first victory of the 2025 Las Vegas NBA Summer League, edging the Boston Celtics 100–96 on Monday night at the Thomas & Mack Center. Second-year guard Pelle Larsson led the Heat with 24 points and six assists, while 7-footer Kel’el Ware added 21 points, 15 rebounds and three three-pointers. Forward Keshad Johnson, whose contract for next season is guaranteed, contributed 22 points in an aggressive showing at both ends. Head coach Eric Glass addressed early rebounding issues by pairing Ware with 7-1 center Vlad Goldin for extended stretches, a move that helped Miami control the boards after two opening losses in Las Vegas. The Heat, now 1-2 in the tournament, face the Detroit Pistons’ summer roster on Thursday before an additional placement game later in the week.
