USA TODAY Sports on 20 August unveiled its 2025 preseason All-America team, with Clemson and Penn State tying for the most first-team selections at three apiece. The list, chosen by a 27-member panel from the USA TODAY Sports Network, highlights players expected to shape the coming college football season. Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik, who threw 36 touchdowns last year and enters the season as a Heisman Trophy contender, headlines the offense. He is joined by Nittany Lions running back Nicholas Singleton, Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love in the backfield, and Ohio State wideout Jeremiah Smith, one of two unanimous first-teamers alongside Buckeyes safety Caleb Downs. The defensive first team features Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker, South Carolina defensive end Dylan Stewart, and Penn State tackle Zane Durant. Oregon transfer safety Dillon Thieneman, Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy and Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore round out a secondary heavy on underclassmen and transfers. Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas each secured at least three total first- or second-team berths, underlining a concentration of talent among perennial playoff contenders as fall camp concludes.
