At Maryland, she will join new athletic director Jim Smith, who recently transitioned from the Atlanta Braves in professional sports to lead the Terrapins' athletics department. Utah State officials have confirmed Sabau's departure, which opens up the athletic director position at the university. This change comes as Maryland continues to reshape its athletics leadership following previous staffing changes, including the poaching of their former AD by SMU of the ACC. Sabau's combination of college athletics and professional sports experience is expected to complement Maryland's new leadership team.
