Meta Platforms Inc. has introduced new safety features on Instagram and Facebook aimed at protecting accounts that primarily feature children and teenagers. The enhancements include expanded protections for teen and child accounts, particularly focusing on direct message (DM) safeguards and restrictions on interactions with suspicious adults. As part of its efforts to combat predatory behavior, Meta has removed over 600,000 Instagram and Facebook accounts linked to such activities. These measures are part of a broader initiative to improve online safety for younger users across Meta's social media platforms.
