Norway’s Jonas Abrahamsen delivered his first Tour de France win on Wednesday, outsprinting Switzerland’s Mauro Schmid after a day-long breakaway on the 156-kilometre 11th stage around Toulouse. Mathieu Van der Poel finished seven seconds back, while the peloton rolled in 3 minutes 28 seconds later. The stage was overshadowed by a crash involving two-time champion Tadej Pogacar, who touched wheels six kilometres from the finish and hit the tarmac outside the race’s protected zone. Pogacar remounted quickly and, after rivals eased their pace, rejoined the favourites to finish in the same time, avoiding losses in the general classification. Ireland’s Ben Healy retained the yellow jersey and a 29-second advantage over Pogacar, with Remco Evenepoel at 1:29 and Jonas Vingegaard at 1:46 heading into the first Pyrenean summit test. Abrahamsen’s victory is the first for the Uno-X team at the Tour and the first by a Norwegian in the race since 2020.
