Daniel Suárez and Trackhouse Racing said Tuesday they will end their partnership at the close of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, concluding the Mexican driver’s five-year run in the team’s flagship No. 99 Chevrolet. Both sides described the split as mutual. Suárez, 33, joined Trackhouse as its first full-time driver when entrepreneur Justin Marks launched the organization in 2021. He delivered the team’s inaugural Cup victory at Sonoma Raceway in 2022 and added a second win at Atlanta in 2024, qualifying for the playoffs in each of those seasons. He currently sits 29th in the 2025 standings. With Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen already signed and only three charters available, Trackhouse faces a log-jam of contracted talent. The organization did not name a successor, but industry expectations center on 19-year-old development driver Connor Zilisch, who has two Xfinity Series wins this year. Suárez, the only Mexican-born driver to win at NASCAR’s top level and the 2016 Xfinity Series champion, said the decision opens “a new chapter” for his career. His next destination has not been announced, and opportunities for competitive Cup rides in 2026 appear limited as most teams have line-ups under contract.
