Starting July 1, 2025, Romania's energy regulator ANRE has officially announced an increase in gas prices and the removal of the electricity price cap, resulting in higher electricity bills for consumers. Despite the price hikes, consumers remain protected by the final price ceiling on gas. To mitigate the impact of rising electricity costs, nearly four million Romanian households will receive a monthly voucher of 50 lei (approximately 10 euros) to help pay their electricity bills.
