A Russian military convoy caught fire on the M-4 Don highway near Yelets in the Lipetsk region on 4 July after colliding with a civilian truck operated by online retailer Ozon, according to multiple local reports. The resulting blaze destroyed a mixed column that included an “Akhmat” armored vehicle, several KamAZ-435029 Patrol-A mine-resistant vehicles, up to five UAZ trucks and a cargo hauler. Estimates of the total number of vehicles lost range from seven to about ten. Local Telegram channels said at least one Russian soldier was involved, though the extent of any injuries has not been confirmed. Russian authorities had not issued an official statement on the incident by late Friday.
