Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow is prepared to weather any additional U.S. sanctions that may follow President Donald Trump’s latest warning over Russia’s role in the war in Ukraine. “I have no doubt we will cope with new sanctions,” Lavrov told reporters on 15 July. Lavrov added that the Kremlin seeks clarity on Washington’s goals, saying it wants “to understand what the U.S. president is moved by.” He acknowledged that further punitive measures are likely but maintained that Russia has adapted to previous rounds of restrictions imposed since its 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
