Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone on 3 July, reviewing what the Kremlin described as “promising joint economic projects” in the energy sector and space exploration, according to Kremlin foreign-policy aide Yuri Ushakov. Ushakov said the two men confirmed mutual interest in advancing those initiatives but did not set a date or venue for any in-person meeting. He added that Putin reiterated Russia would not abandon its objectives in Ukraine, a point that has been central to Moscow’s foreign policy since the 2022 invasion.
