Germany overturned an early deficit to defeat Denmark 2–1 in their UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 Group C encounter in Basel on Tuesday, putting the two-time champions on the brink of the quarter-finals after back-to-back victories. In front of 34,165 spectators at St. Jakob-Park, Amalie Vangsgaard gave Denmark the lead in the 26th minute. Germany levelled just after the break when midfielder Sjoeke Nüsken converted a VAR-awarded penalty, and forward Lea Schüller completed the comeback ten minutes later with her 54th international goal. Head coach Christian Wück’s side managed the win without injured captain Giulia Gwinn; Janina Minge wore the armband while 21-year-old Carlotta Wamser filled in at right-back. Germany lead the group on six points and will clinch a quarter-final berth if the later match between Poland and Sweden ends level, while Denmark remain pointless and risk an early exit.
