A torrential downpour failed to deter the traveling contingent or local neutrals, with fans of other Mexican sides, including Club América and Guadalajara, joining the Rayados contingent. Crowds continued to stream into the venue despite the weather as both teams arrived, setting the stage for the evening knockout match.
