Apple on 18 Aug. released the seventh developer betas of all its forthcoming operating systems, including iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26 “Tahoe,” watchOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26 and HomePod Software 26. The simultaneous rollout, with build 23A5326a for iOS and iPadOS, signals that the software suite is entering its final testing phase ahead of the expected public launch alongside new hardware next month. The new betas restore a redesigned Blood Oxygen monitoring feature for Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10 and Ultra 2 units sold in the United States. Following a recent U.S. Customs ruling that addressed a patent dispute with medical-device maker Masimo, the update measures oxygen data on the watch, off-loads calculation to the paired iPhone and displays results in the Health app, while also enabling background readings. Other changes in beta 7 are largely focused on performance and bug fixes, but developers note continued UI refinements—such as Liquid Glass styling on watchOS and an overhauled Apple TV app on tvOS. Release-candidate builds are expected within weeks, and Apple is likely to seed updated public betas later this week.
