Elon Musk’s artificial-intelligence firm xAI has activated “Grok Imagine,” a text- and image-to-video generator, inside the X app. Users who update the software can join a wait-list under the Grok settings, while immediate beta access is being offered to the service’s highest-tier “Heavy” subscribers. Musk said the feature will expand to X Premium and Premium+ accounts once computing capacity is in place. Grok Imagine converts text prompts or still images into short clips with synchronized audio in under half a minute, with early testers reporting image generation in about four seconds and video creation in roughly 15–30 seconds. The company is capping usage at 50 videos per day for Premium members, 100 for Premium+, and 500 for Heavy users. Musk claims the system now produces videos in one-half to one-quarter of the time competitors require to generate a single image. Branding the service “AI Vine,” Musk also disclosed that xAI engineers have recovered the original Vine video archive, which he intends to reopen for posting alongside the new tool. The launch underscores his broader push to reposition X as an AI-driven media platform, complementing xAI’s chatbot Grok and forthcoming productivity integrations announced last month.
Hey Grok, Imagine Elon Musk as Batman. https://t.co/L19FxKDv9N
I have to say, Grok Imagine is noticeably better than when I first used it just a week ago. Much faster video creation times and better end results. Pace of improvement has been good. https://t.co/3pHHrMW8Tb
