The Audiencia Nacional has summoned Isabel Pardo de Vera, former president of Adif, and Javier Herrero, former general director of Roads, to appear as investigated parties on July 21 in connection with the 'Caso Koldo' investigation. Judge Ismael Moreno is leading the case, which involves allegations of irregularities in public works contract awards. The summons follows indications from the Supreme Court pointing to consistent evidence against both individuals for alleged rigging of public works contracts. Pardo de Vera faces investigation for up to five alleged offenses, including bribery, influence peddling, and membership in a criminal organization. The Guardia Civil has linked her to at least four rigged contract awards and noted the interest of Santos Cerdán in promoting her to secure more contracts. The investigation concerns activities during the tenure of José Luis Ábalos at the Ministry of Transport.
